CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION N0. 84-58 <br />BY; Mrs. Petrigac <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE NORTH OLMSTED <br />LANDMARKS COMMISSION TO MAKE APPLICATION TO <br />THE OHIO HISTORIC PRESERVATION OFFICE FOR A <br />GRANT-IN-AID FOR FISCAL YEARS 1984 - 1985 AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted recognizes the North <br />Olmsted Landmarks Commission as the agency of the City engaged in <br />matters of historic preservation and restoration; and <br />WHEREAS, matching grant funds are available to eligible <br />applicants through the Ohio Historic Preservation Office; and <br />WHEKEAS, the City of North Olmsted, through the Landmarks <br />Commission, wishes to safeguard the City of North Olmsted's <br />cultural, social, economic, political, educational and <br />architectural heritage by: <br />a. Landmarking sites, structures, districts, buildings, <br />works of art and other objects, together recognizing <br />same; <br />b. Encouraging the preservation, restoration, <br />reconstruction, rehabilitation, and recycling of the <br />items specified in subsection (a); and <br />WHEREAS, to promote civic pride and awareness of the <br />history, architecture, and notable accomplishments of North <br />Olmsted; and <br />WHEREAS, the Landmarks Commission shall conduct a continuing <br />survey of all sites, buildings, structures or similar objects in <br />the City of North Olmsted that are culturally, socially, <br />economically, politically, architecturally, educationally or <br />historically significant; and <br />WHEREAS, the Commission shall work for the continuing <br />education of the citizens of North Olmsted; and <br />WHEREAS, the Commission shall publish and keep current a <br />register of all landmarks; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted has already appropriated <br />funds for the purposes of plaquing, photographing, provision of <br />supplies, traveling expenses, photography equipment in the 1984 <br />budget; and <br />?
