<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 84-8 <br />PAGE 2 <br />C. In the event that the departing member who vacates <br />the office of councilman was not elected with a major <br />party affiliation, the vacancy shall be filled by a <br />majority affirmative vote of the remaining members of <br />council eligible to vote, regardless of political party <br />affiliation. If Council fails to fill such vacancy <br />within 30 days, the Mayor shall fill said vacancy. <br />SECTION 2; That if such amendment is approved by a <br />majority of t e electors voting thereon at such election, it <br />shall become effective from and after the time of its approval <br />by the electors. <br />SECTION 3: That the Clerk of Council is hereby authorized <br />and directe to cause a copy of the proposed Charter amendment <br />to be published in such manner as may be authorized by law. <br />SECTION 4: That the Clerk of this Council be and she is <br />hereby aut orized and directed to forward a certified copy of <br />this Ordinance to the Board of Elections of Cuyahoga County. <br />SECTION 5: That the Board of Elections is hereby requested <br />to cause appropriate notice of such election to be duly given <br />in accordance with law. <br />SECTION 6: That this Ordinance is hereby determined to <br />be an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation <br />of the public peace, property, health and safety of the City and <br />for the further reason that this Ordinance must be immediately <br />effective in order to permit necessary arrangements to be made <br />in sufficient time for said election; wherefore, this Ordinance <br />shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage. <br />PASSED: <br />ATTEST: <br />Florence Camp ell, Cler of Council <br />APPROVED: <br />OBER W.
