r' CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE N0.85 - 104 BY: /'& AN ORDINANCE ESTABLI5HING WORKING CONDITIONS AND BENEFITS TO BE PAID TO THE EMPLOYEES OF THE NORTH OLMSTED MUNICSPAL BUS LINE, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, Council and the Administration wish to update the benefits for the employees of the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line, to become effective January l, 1986, in order that they be similar to benefits presently offered to the employees of the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: Work Week-Overtime A. The normal work week for regular full time employees of the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line shall be forty (40) hours. Said work week shall commence at 12:01 A.M. Sunday through 12:00 Midnight Saturday. It is recognized that the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line shall be maintained on a schedule compatible with efficient and practical transit ser- vice seven (7) days a week. Therefore, it is further recog- nized that the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line retains the right to determine the manner and method of assigning work. It is further recognized that some employees may be assigned to work schedules to accommodate seven (7) days per week ser- vice which may of necessity involve overtime work. Hourly employees will be paid at time and one-half of the straight time rate for all hours in excess of eight (8) hours per day, and also, time and one-half of their straight time rate for all hours worked in excess of forty (40) hours in any one work week. Time and one-half shall not be paid more than once for the same working time (spread penalty excepted), and any work paid at time and one-half shall not. be included in hours upon which weekly overtime is computed. It should also be note that the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line shall determine the manner and method of assigning and offering all overtime work which is consistent with efficient transit practices. B. When a bus driver is assigned work on his scheduled day off it is understood that time will be paid at the time and one-half rate with the exception of charter work. The time rate worked in charter service will be paid on a straight time rate and will not be used in computing overtime pay. C. With respect to non-bus driving personnel, in the computation of weekly overtime, recognized holidays shall be considered as time worked to the extent of the normal regular hours called for, except where the holiday coincides with the scheduled day off of the employee. D. Al1 salaried employees may be paid overtime upon re- commendat.ion of department heads and approval of appointing authority, at the time and one-half hourly rate, provided, how- ever, that in no such instance shall daily and weekly overtime be duplicated.
