CHECK-OFF
S. The City shall deduct the initiation fee and regular
monthly dues from the pay of employees covered by this
Memorandum upon receipt from the Union of individual written
authorization cards voluntarily executed by an employee for
that purpose and bearing his signature, provided that any
employee shall have the right to revoke such authorization
pursuant to the provisions of Section 9.41 of the Ohio Revised
Code.
Deductions under this Paragraph S shall be made during
the second pay period of each month, but if an employee's pay
for that period is insufficient to cover Union dues, the City
will make a deduction from the pay earned during the next period
or a subsequent period. All deductions under this Paragraph 5,
accompanied by an alphabetical list of all employees for whom
deductions have been made, shall be transmitted to the Union no
later than the fifteenth (15th) day following the end of the
pay period in which the deduction is made, and upon receipt, the
Union shall assume full resnonsibility for the disposition of
all funds deducted.
The Union will indemnify and save the City harmless from
any action growing out of deductions hereunder and commenced
by an employee against the City or the City and the Union jointly.
-3-
