CITY OF NORTH OLN6TED ORDINANCE NO 85 -8 6 PAGE 7 (H) Notwithstanding, the foregoing provisions of this Section 1221.06, in a General Retail Business District where a building used for business purposes and having a floor area of 1002000 sc{uare feet or more has a facade or facades which face a parking area and/or one or more other buildings used for business purposes and which are located at least one himdred feet (1001) distant from all dedicated streets and all areas contained in a Residential District, then there shall be permitted on each such facade (including, in addition to the principal exterior wall or walls of such facade, any parapet wall, or penthouse wa11 comprising a part thereof), permanent signs having a total area equal to six percent (60) or less of the area of such facade (including in addition to the principal exterior wall or walls of such facade, any parapet wall, or penthouse wall comprising a part thereof), but no sign installed or ma.intained pursuant to the provisions of this paragraph (H) shall extend above the wall on which it is placed. 1221.07 Signs in Limited Industry Districts Signs in Limited Industry Districts shall be accessory to a building or use permitted and shall conform with the regula- tions set forth in this Section. (A) The following type of signs as to content shall be permitted: 1. Real Estate and Develapmerit Signs, as regulated in Section 1'2'MU . 2. Directional Signs. 3. Tndustrial Si ns, provided the sign is located on t e same ot as the establishment or use to which it is directed. (B) The following types of signs as to design sha11 be permitted: l. Flat and Wa11,Sigris,,Project_inas reQUlated in Section 1ZZ1.06: ns and Pole Si 2. Ground Sign s, if located on the same lot as the 'Gui'lc ?.n or use to which it directs attention. 3. TemporaryLimited Tndustry Signs. In the event of a new business or use, a 1at or wall sign not exceeding forty (40) sc{uare feet in size, may he attached to the liuilding for a period of time not more than thirty (30) days beyond tfie installation of its permanent signs, or ninety (90) days maximum, whichever occurs first. Written approva.l must £irst be obtained from tfie Building Official. ? (C) The total area of all permanent types of service and industrial signs shall be determi.ned in accordance witfi standards set forth in Section 1221.04. Tlie total area of the visible surfaces of the industrial signs for each establishment shall not exceed one (1) square foot for each lineal foot of the building frontage.
