..w?... __. .? <br />Page 11 <br />? 14.4 Any Employee who transfers from one department within the City of <br />North Olmsted to another shall be credited with the unused balance <br />of Sick Leave accumulated. <br />14.5 The Fire Chief may require that the Employee furnish a satisfactory <br />affidavit explaining the use of Sick Leave. <br />14.6 The amount of time off for Sick Leave shall be limited by the amount <br />of Sick Leave time accumulated in accordance with the Ohio State <br />minimum requirements mentioned in Section 14.1. <br />14.7 In the event of death of Immediate Family other than the Employees <br />spouse or children, the Employee shall receive two consecutive 24 <br />hour shifts off. <br />14.8 In the event of death of an Employee's spouse or children the <br />employee shall receive an additional 24 honrs of compassionate leave. <br />ARTICLE RV <br />Leave of Absence <br />15.1 Employees shall be entitled to take a personal leave of absence with <br />the approval of the Fire chief. Any leave of absence for personal <br />reasons shall not exceed a ninety day period. <br />15.2 An employee who is on Sick Leave, and has exhausted all accumulated <br />Sick Leave, shall be entitled to a sickness leave of absence which <br />shall not exceed ninety days from the date accumulated Sick Leave <br />was exhausted. <br />15.3 To maintaia any benefits normally paid by the Employer, the Employee <br />on leave as in Article 15.1 or 15.2 shall paq the cost of such <br />benefits to the Finance Director on the first Day of the month for <br />which the benefit payment applies. <br />15.4 If an Employee does not report to the Fire Chief upon ezpiration of <br />the leave of absence, he shall lose all rights of employment. <br />15.5 Employees with less than one year employment shall not be eligible <br />for a Leave of Absence. <br />AxTICLE RVI <br />On-Duty Injury <br />16.1 In the event tihat an Employee is injured while in the line of duty <br />due to a sudden and accidental occurrence and such injury has so <br />incapacitated the Employee, that he is temporarily unable to work, <br />then the Fire Chief shall render a decision whether the in3ury is <br />work related and of a temporary nature. The Fire Chief may then <br />request the Safety Director to authorize full payment of the <br />Employee's regular salarp for a period of not more than ninety <br />days. If after said ninety day period the Employee is still <br />temporarily incapacitated, the Safety Director shall recommend to <br />Council whether or not to continue salary. Council shall forthwith <br />review the matter and by a majority vote determine whether the <br />Employee shall continue to receive his full salary during <br />recuperation.
