.... . a?_.._:.?..,.. _._ _ <br />F ,. <br />,.. <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. $5 - 13 <br />PAGE 2 <br />SECTION 3: That it is the desire of the Council that <br />the ballot for said question shall be in the following form: <br />PROPOSED CHARTER AMENDMENT <br />A majority affirmative vote is necessary for passage. <br />Shall Section 2 of Article IX of the Charter be <br />amended to provide that primary elections be held <br />for the purpose of nominating persons as candidates <br />of political parties for election to offices to be <br />voted for at the next succeeding general election <br />in the odd numbered years at the date and time <br />provided for from time to time by the general laws <br />of the State of Ohio governing municipal corporations. <br />YES <br />NO <br />SECTION 4: That the Clerk of Council is hereby author- <br />ized and directed promptly to forward a certified copy of this <br />ordinance to the Board of Elections of Cuyahoga County. <br />SECTION 5: That the Board of Elections of Cuyahoga <br />County shall cause to be duly given an appropriate notice of <br />the election to be held on June 4, 1985, on the foregoing <br />amendment to the Charter of this City and otherwise provide for <br />such election in the manner provided by the general laws of the <br />State of Ohio. <br />SECTION 6: That the Clerk of Council is hereby authorized <br />and directed to cause the full text of such proposed Charter <br />amendment to be published once a week for two consecutive weeks <br />in a newspaper of general circulation in the City of North Olmsted, <br />with the first publication to be made at least fifteen days prior <br />to the election to be hald on June 4, 1985, as provided in <br />Article XVIII, Section 9 of the Ohio Constitution and in §731.211 <br />of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />SECTION 7: That there is hereby appropriated from the <br />general fund a sufficient sum of money to pay the costs of carry- <br />ing out the authorizations and directions of this ordinance. <br />SECTION 8: That this ordinance shall be and the same <br />hereby is declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the <br />immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and <br />welfare of this City and, for the further reason that it is <br />necessary that provision be made for said election at the earliest <br />possible moment so that the electors of this City will have the <br />opportunity to vote on said proposed Charter amendment at the <br />June 4, 1985, election; wherefore, this ordinance shall be in full <br />force and effect from and immediately after its passage and
