<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION l; That this Council urges the Governor to promote and the <br />General Assembly to revise the existing laws of the State of Ohio to <br />promote competition in the transit industry through legislation providing <br />for the distribution of sales tax revenue for transit purposes on an <br />equitable basis to transit authorities located within a county that are <br />less than county wide in area. <br />SECTION 2: That the Clerk of Council, upon the passage of this <br />Resolution, forward a copy thereof to the Governor of the State of Ohio, the <br />General Assembly of the State of Ohio, Senator Gary Suhadolnik, and to <br />State Representative James Petro. <br />SECTION 3: That the within Resolution is presented as an emergency <br />measure necessary for the immediate preservation and protection of the <br />public peace, health, safety and general welfare of the inhabitants of the <br />City, and for the further reason that it is immediately necessary to <br />institute reform procedures in the areas of mass transit; and, therefore, <br />this Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage by <br />Council and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: <br />67 <br />ATTEST; <br />F'LORENCE E.
