.tom .~ .~. <br />Page 14 <br /> <br />15.4 If an Employee does not report to the Fire Chief upon expiration of <br />the leave of absence, he shall lose all rights of employment. <br />15.5 bnployees with less than one year employment shall not be eligible for <br />a Leave of Absence. <br />ARTICLE XVI <br />ON-DUTY INJURY <br />16.1 In the event that an E7rq~loyee is: <br />(a) injured while in the line of duty due to a sudden and accidental <br />occurrence or, <br />(b) becomes ill due to contact with Aids, Hepatitis, Tuberculosis or <br />Meningitis, and such injury or illness has so incapacitated the <br />Employee that he is temporarily unable to work, the Fire. Chief shall <br />render a decision whether the injury or illness is work related and <br />of.a temporary nature. The Fire Chief may then request the Safety <br />Director authorize full payment of the Employee's regular salary <br />for a period of not more than ninety days. If after ninety days <br />the Employee is still te~nporari~y incapacitated, the Safety Director <br />shall reccmnend to Council whether or not to continue salary. Council <br />shall forthwith review the matter and by a majority vote determine <br />whether the Employee shall continue to receive his full salary <br />during recuperation. <br />16.2 Any Employee who qualifies for benefit under this Article shall not have <br />his accumulated Sick heave reduced. <br />ARTICIE XVII <br />A schedule of salaries which is attached as Appendix A, shall form apart <br />of, and be subject to,-all provisions of this Agreement. <br />ARTICLE XVIII <br />PARAN~IC PAY <br />Each employee who is licensed by the State of Ohio as a certified paramedic <br />shall be paid a $500 bonus on or before the 15th of December. Compensation <br />for licensed certified paramedics runs from December 15 to December 14 of <br />each year. It shall be calculated~on a pro rata basis for those who, <br />dtu~lr~g the. year, retire, and for those individua]s newly hired or completing <br />paramedic training between December 15 ar~d December 14 of each~y ~e <br />provision of this ,article shall not be applicable to the Fire Prevention <br />Personnel. <br /> <br />
