,~..., <br /> <br />Page 13 <br />14.2 Employees shall receive twelve hours off with pay for each sax consecutive <br />months of unused Sick Leave. Selection of such tame off shall be subject <br />{ to the approval of the Fire Chief or his des3.®nee. <br />14.3 An Employee shall be paid for unused, accumulated Sick Leave at the tiir-e of <br />disability, retirement or death. Payment shall be based upon the Basic <br />Hourly Rate of Pay at the tithe of disability, retirement or death plus <br />Longevity and the amount shall be one-half of the unused Sick Leave with <br />a tnaxitrnun paytr-ent of 540 hours for 1987 and 600 hours for 1988 and 1989. <br />14.4 Any Employee who transfers from one department within the City of North <br />Olmsted to another shall be credited with the unused balance of Sick Leave <br />accumulated. <br />14.5 The Fire Chief tray require that the Employee furnish a satisfactory affidavit <br />explaining the use of Sick Leave. <br />14.6 The amount of time off for Sick Leave shall be limited by the amount of Sick <br />Leave time accumulated in accordance with the Ohio State minim~utrtrequirements <br />mentioned in section 14.1. <br />14.7 In the event of death of Immediate Family other than the Dt~loyee's spouse <br />or children, the Employee shall receive two consecutive twenty-four hour <br />shifts off. <br />14.8 In the event of death of an IIt~loyee's spouse or children, the Employer <br />shall provide a total of ninety-six hours compassionate leave. <br />14.9 Should an Employee need more time off for death of a spouse or children, <br />and he can supply a pY~ysician's statement, any time off in excess of the <br />cotr~passionate leave shall be deducted from the Employee's acctmaalated <br />Sick Leave. <br />ARTICLE XV <br />LEAVE OF ABSIIJCE <br />15.1 Employees shall be entitled to take a personal leave of absence with <br />the approval of the Fire Chief. -Any leave of absence for personal <br />reasons shall not exceed a ninety day period. <br />15.2 An Employee who is on Sick Leave, and has exhausted all accumaalated Sick <br />Leave, shall be entitled to.a sickness leave of absence which shall. not <br />exceed ninety days from the date accumulated Sick Leave was exhausted. <br />15.3 7.b maintain any benefits normally paid by the Etaployer, the Employee on <br />leave as in Article 15.1 or 15.2 shall pay the cost of such benefits to <br />the Finance Director on the first Day of the moa~th for which the benefit <br />payment applies. <br />r <br />
