p~ 12 12.3 Selection of Holidays shall be made by the Employee and subject to the approval of the Fire Chief or his desj.glee. ~`~` 12.4 Selection and approval of Holidays shall not be permitted more than ninety clays prior to the day selected. Employees shall be permitted to select Holidays so that no mere than three Employees shall be off duty for Holidays, Kelley bays, or Vacation at any time. 12.5 The Employer shall have the right to cancel a Holiday in the event of an emergency situation. An Employee shall have the right to cancel any Holiday no later than 5 shifts prior to the scheduled Holiday. 12.6 Each Employee who works a shift beginning at 0800 hours on Easter, Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day. shall be compensated at the rate. of twelve-hours Basic Hourly Rate of Pay plus Longevity. 12.7 Fire Prevention Employees shall be entitled to the following Holidays: New Year's Day, President's Day, Good Friday, Manorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Davy, Veteran's Dray, the Employee's Birthday and a floating EYr~loyee's personal use day. ARTICIE XIII VACATION SCHE~tJIE 13.1 All Employees of the Fire Department shall receive a vacation at the Basic Hourly Rate of Pay plus I,or~;evity, Provided .that they have been esaployed for at least one calendar year. The amount of vacation time eazried shall be as follows: 1 - 4 years ............................ 5 shifts 5 - 9 years ............. ......... ... 7 shifts 10 - 17 years ................ ..........10 shifts 18 - 22 years .................. .........12 shifts 23 or more years .........................15 shifts 13.2 The procedaare for selecting vacation time shall remain as in effect as of the date of this Agreement, haaever, if extenuating circumstances arise the Employee involved may request the Fire Chief or his designee to approve such request out of sequence. 13.3 In the event of a disaster (as determined by the Fizre.Chief.) all vacations may be cancelled by the Fire Chief. 13.4 Employees shall be permitted to request that earned vacation leave be accLanulated. In no event shall ~ the Employee be permitted to. accumulate vacation leave .in excess of the amount earned in the prior year. ARTICLE XIV SICK LEAVE 14.1 :Sick Leave shall be earned in accordance with the Ohio State minimum requirements and accumulation shall be unlimited.
