..., <br /> ,,... <br /> <br />ARTICLE III <br />THE MAYOR <br />"SEC. 2. QUALIFICATIONS <br />The Mayor shall have been a qualified elector and a resident of this <br />City for at least two (2) years immediately prior to the date of his <br />election, and shall continue to be a qualified elector and resident therein <br />during his term. He shall not serve on continuous active military <br />service in excess of one (1) month, either state or national., nor shall he <br />hold any other public office or public employment, except that of notary <br />public or member of the State Militia, National Guard or Reserve Corps of <br />the United States. <br />Nothing contained in this Section shall be construed so as to prohibit <br />the Mayor from serving as a member or official of any organization of <br />governments, special unit of government or an organization of govermental <br />officials, whether such organization or special unit of government is <br />organized as a special district, regional council of governments, non- <br />profit corporation or some other form under the statutes or Constitution of <br />the State of Ohio or the federal government. This Section shall not <br />prohibit the Mayor from serving as a member or an official in any other <br />non-profit corporation where the Mayor's service is in the capacity of <br />representing the City. When serving as a member or an official of any <br />organization of governments, special unit of government or an organization <br />of governmental officials, or where the Mayor's service is as a member or <br />official of a non-profit corporation permitted by this Section, the Mayor <br />shall not be deemed to be interested in the profits or emoluments of any <br />contract, job, work or service for the City or other transaction because of <br />any contract or other transaction between the City and such organizations, <br />special unit of government or non-profit corporation; and the Mayor may <br />fully participate (i) as the Mayor of the City in the deliberations by the <br />City or its agencies and (ii) in his capacity as a member or an official <br />of such organization of governments, special unit of government, <br />organization of governmental officials or non-profit corporation, including <br />the right to vote with respect to such contract, job, work, service or <br />other transaction." <br />SECTION 2: That if such amendment is approved by a majority of the <br />electors voting thereon at such election, it shall become effective from <br />and after the time of its approval by the electors. <br />SECTION 3: That the Clerk of Council is hereby authorized and directed <br />to cause a copy of the proposed Charter Amendment to be published in such <br />manner as may be authorized by law. <br />
