JOB TITLE: <br />SYSTEMS MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN <br />Nature of Work: This is responsible semi-skilled and manual . <br />labor work of a demanding nature. Work involves inspection by <br />visual and mechanical procedures as well as repair by approved <br />methods of sewers and other conduits of this nature as directed <br />by the Systems Foreman, Assistant Superintendent-Systems, or <br />Superintendent. <br />Examples of Work: <br />Participates in the work of a crew engaged in cleaning and <br />inspection of sanitary and/or storm sewers and other conduits <br />related to the area of assignment. <br />Operates a variety of inspection and maintenance equipment; such <br />as TV cameras, monitors, grouting equipment, and other machines <br />and equipment as required and as a necessary adjunct to normal <br />duties. <br />Keeps records of all work performed; reports need for <br />materialsand equipment where and when needed. <br />Assists Systems Foreman in repairs to assigned equipment. <br />Work can be characterized by assignment to rotating shifts where <br />needed or as ordered by the Superintendent. <br />Responsible for automatic equipment used daily in performance <br />with schedules set up by Superintendent, Assistant Superinten- <br />dent Systems, or Systems Foreman. <br />Subject to 24-hour call during emergency situations. <br />Performs related work as required. <br />Desirable Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: <br />Considerable knowledge of tools, materials, methods and modern <br />techniques commonly used in public works, sewer construction, and <br />maintenance activities. <br />Considerable knowledge hazards and safety precautions necessary <br />in sewer and maintenance work. <br />EXHIBIT B-12 <br />71 <br />,P, <br />
