CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 87- 76 <br />$y; MR. TALLON <br />AN ORDINANCE CREATING NEW SECTION 1116.14 OF THE ZONING <br />CODE AND NEW CHAPTER 1721 OF THE FIRE PREVENTION CODE <br />PROVIDING DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION STANDARDS FOR FIRE <br />DEPARTMENT VEHICLE ACCESS UPON COMMERCIAL, INDUSTRIAL, <br />AND MULTI-FAMILY PROPERTIES LOCATED WITHIN THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, AS AMENDED. <br />WHEREAS, providing Fire Department protection to commercial, industrial <br />and multi-family properties is an essential local governmental function <br />necessary to the health, welfare and safety of the residents and property <br />owners of the City of North Olmsted; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council has determined that it is necessary to establish <br />new design and construction standards for commercial, industrial and multi- <br />family developments in order to insure that Fire Department vehicles and <br />apparatus have adequate access to such developments for the purpose of <br />fighting fires and responding to other emergencies; <br />WHEREAS, after a careful consideration, the Planning Commission of the <br />City, on the 22nd day of September 1987, recommended approval of the <br />change of the district herein specified. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION l: That there be and hereby is created new Section 1116.14 of <br />the North Olmsted Zoning Code, entitled "Access for Fire Department <br />Vehicles," which as enacted shall read as follows: <br />"Section 1116.14 Access for Fire Department Vehicles. <br />All access roadways, drives, driveways, aisles and parking areas <br />for commercial, industrial, and multi-family developments shall <br />conform to the requirements for fire department vehicle and <br />apparatus access set forth in Chapter 1721 of the Codified <br />Ordinances of the City of North Olmsted." <br />SECTION 2: That there be and hereby is created new Chapter 1721 of the <br />Fire Prevention Code of the City of North Olmsted, entitled "Access <br />Requirements for Fire Department Vehicles and Fire Department Apparatus," <br />which as enacted shall read as follows: <br />
