<br />ARTICLE V _ <br />OVERTIME EXTRA DUTY <br />1. All full-time employees, with the exception of the <br />Chief, shall be paid one and one half (1-1/2) times their regular rate of <br />pay for all hours required to be worked in excess of the work day or week <br />as defined in Article YI, Section I. However, no employee shall be paid <br />at an overtime rate for time spent while pursuing educational endeavors, <br />mandatory schooling required by law or internal programs instituted by the <br />Chief of Police relating to changes in the Ohio Revised Code or the Ohio <br />Uniform Rules of Criminal Procedure. It shall, however, be appropriate to <br />pay overtime rate to employees who participate in specialty programs <br />required training at times other than~the employee's regular tour of duty; <br />provided, however, that such programs have been designed by the Chief of <br />Police as programs for which overtime will be paid. <br />2. Any employee who qualifies for overtime by virtue of the <br />provisions of Section 1 hereof shall be paid a minimum of two (2) hours <br />when required to report for extra duty over and above his regular work day <br />and work week. Such an employee shall also be paid a minimum of two (2) <br />hours for appearance at the Rocky River Municipal Court and a minimum of <br />four hours for appearance at the Grand Jury or Common Pleas Court when the <br />same are required, and are also at a time other than the employee's <br />regular work tour. The compensation for the aforesaid hours will be at <br />time and one-half (1-1/2). <br />3. Any time a patrolman is required to temporarily take <br />charge of a shift command, such patrolman shall be paid a premium of one <br />-4- <br />
