• <br />HOURS OF WORK <br />25. The normal week for regular full-time bargaining unit <br />employees of the City Hall, Recreation Department, and Police <br />Department shall be forty (40) hours of work in five (5) days <br />of eight (8) consecutive hours per day, inclusive of time <br />allotted for meals during the period. It is recognized that <br />the Police Department and Recreation Department (maintenance <br />employees) will be manned on a continuous operation schedule <br />and individual employees will be assigned to work schedules <br />accordingly. ~- <br />T <br />(a) City Hall Clerks and Inspectors will be ~-- <br />scheduled to work 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. <br />daily. <br />(b) Recreation Department Clerks will be scheduled <br />to work 8:30 a.m, to 4:30 p.m. daily. <br />26. The City may not reduce the weekly schedule of work for <br />any department or employee below forty (40) hours without agree- <br />ment with the Union. This shall not prevent reduction or can- <br />cellation of scheduled hours of work on a temporary basis if an <br />emergency occurs which is beyond the control of the City. <br />27. Employees shall be allowed not less than sixty (60) <br />uninterrupted minutes for a scheduled lunch period daily except <br />for other schedules mutually agreed upon with the Union. <br />28. Employees will be paid time and one-half (1~) of their <br />straight time rate of pay for hours worked in excess of eight (8) <br />in any one work day and time and one-half (1~) of their straight <br />time rate of pay for hours worked in excess of forty (40) hours <br />in ..any one work week. In the interest of Health and Safety, <br />management may send an employee home before he completes his <br />regular scheduled shift when the employee has worked the maximum <br />consecutive emergency overtime hours. Such regularly scheduled <br />shift hours not worked shall be credited toward the forty (40) <br />hour work week requirement for any subsequent overtime hours :~ <br />worked. A work day is a twenty-four (24) hour. period commencing <br />at the start bf the employee's scheduled shift. Hours worked on <br />a day designated as a holiday in Paragraph S1 shall be paid at <br />one and a half (1~) the employee's straight time rate of pay for <br />hours worked in addition to regular holiday pay in accordance <br />-10- <br />
