<br />~' <br />The Service Mechanics and helpers will be subject to rotating <br />overtime. These overtime lists are continuous and shall not <br />start over at the first of the year. Seasonal and part-time <br />employees will not work overtime until all regular employees <br />have been offered overtime. <br />30. For the purpose of Paragraph 29, it shall not be deemed <br />practicable to distribute an overtime opportunity in strict <br />accordance with the overtime lists where: (1) the City, in good <br />faith, estimates that the opportunity consists of no more thin. <br />one (1) hour of overtime work per man required, or (2) the =- <br />opportunity arises during an emergency. --- <br />In distributing overtime opportunities, the City or its <br />representatives shall not engage in a policy favoring an employee <br />or employees, unless this Agreement requires certain employees <br />to work the overtime. <br />LEAVES OF ABSENCE s-- <br />31. Military Leave. An employee shall be granted a leave of <br />absence for military duty under the terms and conditions provided <br />in applicable federal law. <br />32. Unpaid Sick Leave. A regular full-time employee who has <br />completed his probationary period and who has exhausted his paid <br />sick leave shall be granted a leave of absence without pay for a <br />period not to exceed six (6) months for a continuing disability <br />which is substantiated by credible medical evidence. If the ill- <br />ness or disability continues beyond fix (6) months, additional <br />sick~.leave may be granted by the City upon request. The employee <br />shall be required to submit proof acceptable to the City of his <br />ability to perform the work of his job upon the termination of <br />the sick leave. Any dispute as to the ability of an employee to <br />perform the work of the job shall be determined pursuant to the <br />medical .examination procedure in Paragraph 35. <br />-12- <br />
