Passed 7-5-77,) <br />(b) (1) There is hereby established a new position in the Law <br />Department to be designated as Assistant Director of <br />Law (Assistant Prosecutor). <br />(2) The Assistant Director of Law (Assistant Prosecutor) <br />shall have as his main responsibility the prosecution <br />of nonpolice cases, namely emanating from the Building <br />Department, the Engineering Department and Service <br />Department, together with all license violations. The <br />Assistant Prosecutor shall however, act as a back-up <br />for the Prosecutor in the Prosecutor's absence. (Ord. <br />81-81. The employees of the Department shall consist of three <br />assistant directors of law and two law clerks. One assistant <br />director of law shall be civil assistant to the Law Director, <br />one shall be police prosecutor, and one shall be assistant <br />prosecutor. <br />(b) The assistant prosecutor's primary duties shall be the <br />prosecution of nonpolice cases, namely those emanating from the <br />Building Division, the Engineering Division, and the Service <br />Department. He shall also prosecute all license violations. In <br />the absence of the police prosecutor, the assistant prosecutor <br />shall also perform the police prosecutors' duties. <br />SECTION 2: That the section law clerk whose position has been created <br />by this Ordinance, upon his or her appointment by the Director of Law, <br />shall be compensated within the same range of hourly compensation <br />established by this Council for the position of law clerk first established <br />by this Council. <br />
