• ~ D• Ikrusual volimie of flow or concentration of wastes <br />constituting "slugs"as defined in Section 911.03(81). <br />(15) Waters or wastes containing substances which are not <br />amenable to treatment or reduction by the sewage <br />treatment or reduction by the sewage treatment processes <br />employed or are amenable to treatment only to such degree <br />that the sewage treatment plant effluent cannot meet the <br />requirements of other agencies having jurisdiction over <br />discharge to the receiving waters. <br />(16) Any water or waste that for a duration of fifteen <br />minutes has a conCentx'ation greater than three times <br />that which is specified for TSS and BOD under Section <br />911.14 and/or which is discharged continuously at <br />a rate exceeding 200 gallons p~ minute will be <br />unacceptable. <br />(d) If any waters or wastes are discharged or are proposed to be <br />d~.scharged to the public sewers, which waters contain the substance or <br />possess the characteristics eniunerated in subsection (c) hereof, and <br />which in the judgement of the Service Director may have a deleterious <br />effect upon the sewage r~rks, processes <br />or which otherwise create a hazard to life~orpco sttitute alpubl caters, <br />nuisance, the Service Director may; <br />(1) Reject the wastes; <br />(2) Require pretreatment to an acceptable condition in <br />accordance with guidelines adopted in the ordinance <br />of this City for discharge into the public sewers; <br />(3) Ranequi~e control over quantities and rate of discharge; <br />(4) Require payment to cover the added cost of handling <br />and treatment of the wastes not covered by existing <br />taxes or sewer charges tinder the provisions of subsection <br />(i) hereof. <br />If the Service Director permits the pretreatment or equalization of <br />waste flows, the design and installation of the plants and equipment <br />shall be subject to the review and approval of the City Ehgineer and <br />subject to the requirements of all applicable codes, ordinances and <br />laws. <br />(e) All food establishments which maintain a kitchen or other <br />facilities for the preparation of food shall be re <br />gallon capacity grease tra ~~ to ~~ a 1,000 <br />shall be installed at least t~efeet franctheobuil '~~ grease trap <br />is prepared, and such grease trap shall be cleaned and maim fined toothe <br />satisfaction of the Service Director evidence of such cleaning to be <br />exhibited to a member of the Service Department upon request and further <br />grease, oil and sand interceptors shall be provided when, in the opinion <br />of the Service Director, they are necessary for the proper handling of <br />liquid wastes containing grease in excessive amounts, or any flammable <br />wastes, sand and other harniful ingredients, except that such inter- <br />ceptors shall not be required for private living quarters or dwelling <br />units. All interceptors shall be of a type and capacity approved by the <br />Service Director, and shall be located as to be readily accessible for <br />cleaning and inspection. Alternative size and location conditions may <br />be approved, but only if in conformance to the Ohio Plumbing Code. <br />- 24 - <br />
