CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 93- 20 <br />BY: JANET SARINGER <br />AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING A NEW AND REVISED <br />CHAPTER 1309 OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES, <br />ENTITLED "NATIONAL ELECTRIC CODE AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Council of the City of North Olmsted deems it advisable, upon the <br />recommendation of the City Building Commissioner, to update the City's electrical code in order <br />to bring it into conformance with 1993 standards. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That there is hereby established a new and revised Chapter 1309 of the <br />Codified Ordinances entitled, "National Electrical Code," which new and revised chapter shall <br />read in it s entirety as follows: <br />"1309.01 CURRENT EDITION ADOPTED. <br />There is hereby adopted and incorporated by reference as if set out <br />at length herein that certain code known as the National Electrical <br />Code, 1993 edition, as published by the National Fire Protection <br />Association, for the purpose of safeguarding persons and property <br />from hazards arising from the use of electricity, subject to the <br />modifications provided in Sections 1309.03 et seq. (Ordinance 88- <br />9. Passed 2-16-88) <br />1309.02 FILE AND DISTRIBUTION COPIES. <br />Copies of the National Electrical Code adopted herein are on file <br />with the Clerk of Council and in the County law Library for <br />inspection by the public. In addition, the Clerk of Council has <br />copies available for distribution to the public at cost. <br />1309.02 COVERING WIRING PRIOR TO INSPECTION <br />PROHIBITED. <br />When the wiring or electrical equipment in any building is being <br />altered or installed, no person shall cover such wiring or
