CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION N0.2011 - 43 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO PURCHASE FOR <br />SERVICE DEPARTMENT USE, ONE (1) 2012 INTERNATIONAL 7400 SFA <br />TRUCK TOGETHER WITH A SEPARATELY SOLD SNOW PLOW <br />PACKAGE AND TWO (2) 2011 FORD F350 PICK UP TRUCKS EQUIPPED <br />WITH SNOW PLOW PACKAGES, ALL THROUGH THE STATE <br />PURCHASE PROGRAM; AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR <br />TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE SUCH <br />PURCHASE, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor has recommended to this Council that the City purchase two (2) <br />Ford F-350, 4WD pick-up trucks, equipped with two (2) Western 8'6" MVP snow plows with <br />deflectors; and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor has further recommended to this Council that the City purchase <br />one (1) 2012 International 7400 SFA truck, which is not equipped with snow plowing <br />capabilities; and <br />WHEREAS, to properly equip the 2012 International 7400 SFA truck, the City is in need <br />of separately sold snow plow accessories including, but not limited to, a snow plow, snow plow <br />hitch, snow plow frame and dump body /hoist package; and <br />WHEREAS, said trucks and equipment are essential to the continued provision of service <br />to the community; and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor recommends that such trucks and plows, sold separately through <br />separate vendors as detailed below, be purchased through the State Purchase Program; and <br />WHEREAS, the purchase of said trucks and plows, although in excess of Twenty-Five <br />Thousand Dollars ($25,000), is not legally required by the City Charter to be competitively bid <br />locally, because said item is being purchased through the State Purchase Program, which is <br />deemed under the City Charter to meet the Charter requirements for competitive bidding; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to purchase the <br />hereinbefore referenced trucks and equipment through the State Purchase Program, and further to <br />authorize the Mayor to execute all documents necessary to effectuate said purchase. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />
