<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2006 -198 <br />BY: Mayor O'Grady <br />A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING AND CONSENTING TO THE <br />TERMINATION OF THE CITY'S LEASE WITH THE FIRST <br />INTEGRATED REGIONAL SENIOR TRANSPORTATION <br />("F.I.R.S.T. ") CONSORTIUM FOR THE LEASE OF THE CITY'S <br />REAL PROPERTY AT 26272 BUTTERNUT RIDGE ROAD; <br />FURTHER A UTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF LA W, ON <br />BEHALF OF THE CITY, TO NEGOTIATE A NEW LEASE FOR <br />SAID CITY REAL PROPERTY WITH THE SENIOR <br />TRANSPORTATAION CONNECTION OF CUYAHOGA COUNTY, <br />OHIO ("STC"); FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, ON <br />BEHALF OF THE CITY, TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS <br />NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE LEASE TERMINATION AND <br />THE NEW LEASE NEGOTIATED BY THE DIRECTOR OF LAW; <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City owns certain real property located at 26272 Butternut Ridge <br />Road and identified as Permanent Parcel Numbers 235-6-9, 235-6-10 and 235-6-11, <br />which the City purchased with Community Block Development Grand ("CDBG") funds <br />and which was leased by the City from 1989 to 2004 to Horizon Activities Center, a non- <br />profit organization, for use as an early intervention center for disabled children, and is <br />currently being leased to the First Integrated Regional Senior Transportation (F.I.R.S.T.) <br />Consortium for the operation of a call and dispatch center for transporting elderly and <br />disabled persons; and <br />WHEREAS, the call and dispatch functions of F.I.R.S.T., a consortium composed <br />of the North Olmsted Commission on Paratransit, Inc. ("NOCOP"), the Southeast Senior <br />Transportation ("SST"), and the Qualities Communities Partnership ("QCP") are being <br />taken over by the Senior Transportation Connection of Cuyahoga County ("STC"), an <br />Ohio non-profit corporation; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of F.I.R.S.T. and its component organizations t(i <br />terminate the lease between F.I.R.S.T. and the City of North Olmsted; and <br />WHEREAS, the STC Board of Trustees has adopted a resolution authorizing its <br />Executive Director, upon the termination of the lease between the City and F.I.R.S.T. to <br />enter into a lease with the City providing for the STC to operate the call and dispatch <br />center at 26272 Butternut Ridge Road; and
