? <br />? <br />(7,??? <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2006 - 183 <br />BY: Mayor O'Grady <br />A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED TO NEGOTIATE AND ENTER INTO AN <br />AGREEMENT WITH THE WESTSHORE COUNCIL OF <br />GOVERNMENTS ("WCOG") AND THE CITIES OF BAY VILLAGE, <br />FAIRVIEW PARK, ROCKY RIVER AND WESTLAKE, PROVIDING <br />FOR PARTICIPATION BY THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED IN <br />THE CENTRAL FIRE DISPATCH CENTER OPERATED BY WCOG <br />AT ST. JOHN WEST SHORE HOSPITAL, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted has been a member of the Westshore Council <br />of Governments ("WCOG"), which includes the cities of Bay Village, Fairview Park, <br />Lakewood, Westlake, North Olmsted, and Rocky River, since 1971; and <br />WHEREAS, for the past several years WCOG has been reviewing and planning for the <br />establishment of, and now operates, a central fire dispatch center at St. John West Shore <br />Hospital in Westlake, Ohio, serving the cities of Bay Village, Fairview Park, Rocky River, <br />and Westlake; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted continues to have the opportunity to participate <br />in the said central fire dispatch center by negotiating and entering into a participation <br />agreement with WCOG and the participating WCOG cities; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Mayor, the Director of Public Safety, and <br />the Fire Chief, that, in order to best provide for the safety of the residents of the City of North <br />Olmsted, Council authorize the Mayor to negotiate and enter into an agreement with WCOG <br />and the participating WCOG cities, providing for North Olmsted's participation in the said <br />central fire dispatch center on reasonable terms and conditions; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to so authorize the Mayor to negotiate and <br />enter into such an agreement with WCOG and the other participating cities; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO:
