CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 94~g By: Mayor Edward Boyle AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT FOR THE SALE OF REAL PROPERTY LOCATED AT 30338 LORAIN ROAD, NORTH OLMSTED, OHIO, AND THE ASSIGNMENT OF THE INTEREST OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED IN A CERTAIN AGREEMENT TO PURCHASE REAL PROPERTY LOCATED AT 30374 LORAIN ROAD, NORTH OLMSTED, OHIO, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, this Council by virtue of the passage of Ordinance No. 93-153, authorized the Mayor to purchase, and the City subsequently did purchase, real property located at 30338 Lorain Road, North Olmsted, Ohio, for the purpose of promoting the development of senior residence housing within the City of North Olmsted; and WHEREAS, this Council by virtue of the passage of Ordinance No. 94-21 authorized the Director of Law to proceed to appropriate property located at 30374 Lorain Road, Permanent Parcel No. 233-8-15, owned by George R. Dancik and Dorothy M. Dancik, to be used for a senior citizen center and senior citizen housing, and subsequently by virtue of the passage of Ordinance No. 94-124 authorized and directed the Mayor to enter into a purchase agreement for the purchase of said property; and WHEREAS, this Council expressly declares that the promotion of senior residence housing developments in the City of North Olmsted, whether developed by the City itself or by private enterprise, is a valid public purpose in light of the critical need for such housing in the City and the shortage of such housing in the City; and WHEREAS, while the City has present ownership rights and interest in the above- mentioned parcels of real property located at 303368 Lorain Road and 30374 Lorain Road, which it desires to develop for senior residence use, the City does not possess the economic resources necessary to develop these properties for such use; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to promote senior residence housing in the City of North Olmsted by authorizing the Mayor to enter into a contract to sell the City's right, title and interest in said parcels of real property to a qualified senior residence housing developer, with the condition that said properties be developed only for senior housing, skilled nursing, assisted living, and/or retirement community uses;
