_ ~ .~ ~ .~ , CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 94-162 BY.• Councilman Musial AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING CERTAIN HEALTH CARE BENEFITS FOR THE POSITION OF COUNCIL AT LARGE FOR THE PERIOD COMMENCING JANUARY 1, 1996 AND ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1999. WHEREAS, this Council must establish by Ordinance the salary and benefits to be afforded to elected officials at least thirty (30) days prior to the filing deadline of nominating petitions with the Board of Elections; and WHEREAS, this Council recognizes that the filing deadline for nominating petitions for the position of Council at Large is on or about the sixth (6th) day of March, 1995; and WHEREAS, this Council further recognizes that the provision of affording members of Council health care coverage is a benefit which must be established by Ordinance in order to comply with the salary provisions of the Charter of the City of North Olmsted; and WHEREAS, this Council deems it appropriate to establish the benefit of health care coverage at this time in order to meet the requirements of the Charter. NOW, THIItEFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the following health care benefits shall be afforded to Councilpersons during the following periods of time. 1996 -Coverage shall be provided in an amount and to the extent that such coverage is provided to Ward Councilpersons. 1997 -Coverage shall be provided in an amount and to the extent that such coverage is provided to Ward Councilpersons. 1998 -Limited coverage shall be provided only if health care coverage is not available through said Councilperson's non-city employer, or alternatively, if said Councilperson is retired, and health care coverage is available as a benefit of prior employment then through that source of coverage.
