Page 2
City of North Olmsted
Attn: Mr. Ralph Bohlmann,
Service Director
I. SCOPE OF SERVICES
A. Preparation of Contract Documents
March 11, 1994
The W.R.E.S. Corporation (a.k.a. The Western Reserve Engineering and Surveying
Company) will prepare construction plans and specifications necessary for the replacement of
the pavement on Douglas Drive, Alden Drive, Willet Drive, Dewey Road and Sweetbriaz Drive
(East half). Proposed work will generally consist of complete pavement replacement with
reinforced concrete pavement with integral curbs. Work shall also include subbase, underdrains,
electric conduit for street lighting, catch basins and drive apron replacement. New storm sewers
will be installed on Dewey, Sweetbriar and the portion of Douglas Drive between Evergreen
Drive and West Park Drive.
Construction documents and engineering design parameters will be in accordance with
the latest North Olmsted City Standards.
Construction documents will include a title sheet, general notes, typical sections, plan
sheets and miscellaneous detail sheets. Construction plan design will incorporate all normal
engineering considerations for a project of this type.
Drawings shall be prepared using Autocad Version 12.
The horizontal alignment will not be revised as part of this project.
The vertical alignment of the roadway will be changed in one of two ways for those
streets which will have new storm sewers:
1) Lower the roadway grade to allow for positive drainage from the sidewalk
to the new vertical curb. This may require the waterline to be replaced
due to inadequate cover.
2) Maintain the existing roadway grade and install yard basins in each
treelawn.
Plans, specifications and construction cost estimates shall be prepared the project.
