<br />"909.01 PERMIT REQUIRED; FEES <br />No person, except in cases of undedicated subdivisions or in streets <br />where special assessments are to be made, shall install, construct or <br />replace driveway aprons located in the public right of way which connects <br />to a paved or unpaved thoroughfare without first obtaining an apron permit <br />to do so from the Service Director. <br />The Service Director shall demand and receive a fee of thirty <br />dollars ($30.00) for each apron before issuance of any such permit. This <br />amount is necessary to defray the costs of administration and inspection to <br />insure conformance of the work to City specifications. If construction is <br />commenced prior to obtaining the permit, the fee shall be sixty dollars <br />($60.00) <br />If it is necessary or required to cut or remove any curbing in order <br />to install an apron at an approved grade, the Service Director shall demand <br />and receive a fee of thirty dollars ($30.00) per fifteen (15) lineal feet or <br />fraction thereof of curbing to be cut or removed. If construction is <br />commenced prior to obtaining the permit, the fee shall be sixty dollars <br />($60.00) per fifteen (15) lineal feet or fraction thereof of curbing to be <br />cut or removed. <br />No portion of the aforementioned fees shall be refundable. <br />In addition to the curb cutting fee, the applicant shall deposit with <br />the City three hundred dollars ($300.00) for each fifteen (15) lineal feet <br />or fraction thereof of curbing to be cut or removed to cover the cost of <br />inspection and the cost of repairing the curbing or pavement should the <br />applicant fail to make such repairs as are required by the City Engineer. <br />909.02 CONSTRUCTION STANDARDS <br />The following standards regarding the construction or reconstruction <br />of aprons within the City right of way are hereby established: <br />Curbs, if any, shall be removed or cut to permit the apron to be <br />constructed to the pavement. The apron shall be constructed using a minimum <br />of six inches of Class "C" concrete for residential aprons and minimum of <br />eight inches for others. Horizontal dimensions shall conform to other City <br />standards. Cutting of curbing and all restoration work shall conform to the <br />requirements of the City Engineer. <br />909.03 CONTRACTOR TO MAKE REPAIRS; FAILURE TO COMPLY <br />Upon completion of the work authorized by the permit granted by <br />compliance with the provisions of this chapter, the contractor shall make <br />such temporary repairs as are necessary to maintain traffic and shall <br />promptly repair the roadway and/or curbing as soon as possible. In the <br />event the contractor fails to make such repairs within ten days after notice <br />from the City, the City may cause such repairs to be made and the cost <br />deducted from the deposits required by Section 909.01 <br />
