D. The Chief of Fire shall also be in charge of all employees within the Division of <br />Fire, which shall consist of up to Three (3) Captains, up to Seven (7) <br />Lieutenants, up to Forty-four (44) Firefighters, and up to Fifteen (15) Part Time <br />Firefighters. <br />E. The Chief of Fire shall also be in charge of up to One (1) Secretary I. <br />SECTION 2: That the organization of the Division of Fire, except for the Secretary I, <br />shall consist of employees who are certified paramedics when hired. <br />SECTION 3: That the compensation for all members of the Division of Fire including <br />secretaries and part time firefighters shall, as the case may be, be established either by contract or <br />separate ordinance, which shall be approved by City Council. <br />SECTION 4: That all Ordinances or Resolutions, or parts of Ordinances or Resolutions, <br />in conflict or inconsistent with the provisions of this Ordinance be, and hereby are, to the extent <br />of any such conflict or inconsistency, repealed. <br />SECTION 5: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and for the <br />further reason that without this legislation, three (3) Captains currently in the Division of Fire <br />will be eliminated as of April 3, 2010, and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of <br />two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its <br />passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: ~ ~{~ / ~lO <br />ATT T: <br />MARIE GALLO <br />Clerk of Council <br />APPROVED: ,3~i ~~c o <br />MAYOR KEVIN M.
