WHEREAS, upon request of the VFW, Post 7647, the Mayor has recommended to this Council that it permit, for the 2010 North Olmsted Homecoming event, the VFW, Post 7647 to sell and allow consumption of alcohol at the VFW tent at the North Olmsted Park, from Thursday, August 26, 2010 through Sunday, August 29, 2010.;-mil ~~o ~„~,~;,. ~.,o„~+i. „~ ~.. ~„a . ,o~~ ro NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That Section 957.01 of Chapter 957 (Alcoholic Beverages on Public Grounds) of the Codified Ordinances, which currently reads as follows: 957.01 PERMITTED CIRCUMSTANCES. The sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages shall be permitted despite the provisions of Section 529.09 prohibiting such sale and consumption, only under the following specific circumstances. (a) The prohibition of possession, use, sale or consumption of alcoholic beverages in public buildings or on public grounds shall not apply to municipally owned golf courses, dance halls or party centers. (b) The prohibition of possession, use or consumption of alcoholic beverages in public buildings or on public grounds shall not apply to municipally owned senior housing or any of the accessory buildings associated therewith, and located on the grounds of the senior housing complex.
