ix. Bottom plate shall be treated lumber. <br />(12) Sec. 309.3-Floor Surface (Deleted) <br />(13) Sec. 310.1. Exit Required (Amended) Not less than two exits <br />conforming to this chapter shall be provided from each dwelling unit, <br />one of which is to comply with section 311.1. <br />(14) Sec. 320.2 Townhouses (Amended Each townhouse shall be considered <br />a separate building and separated by separate walls meeting the <br />requirements of Section R-202. EXCEPTION: A common 2-hour fire- <br />resistive wall is permitted for townhouses if such walls do not contain <br />plumbing or mechanical equipment, ducts or vents in the cavity of the <br />common wall. Electrical installations are limited to electrical installed in <br />metallic raceways and metallic electrical outlet boxes. Metallic electrical <br />outlet boxes shall not exceed 16 square inches in surface area. The <br />aggregate surface area of the boxes shall not exceed 100 square inches <br />for any 100 square feet of wall area. Metallic outlet boxes on opposite <br />sides of walls shall be separated by a minimum distance of 24 inches. <br />Metallic electrical outlet boxes shall be installed in accordance with their <br />listings. <br />(15) Sec.406-Damp proofing (Amende, The first paragraph of Section R- <br />406-1 is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />Exterior foundation walls of masonry construction enclosing basements <br />shall be damp proofed by applying not less than 3/8 inch Portland cement <br />parging to the wall from footing to finish grade. The parging shall be <br />covered with a coat of approved bituminous material applied at the <br />recommended rate. Exterior foundation walls of concrete construction <br />enclosing basements shall be damp proofed by applying a coat of <br />approved bituminous material to the wall from the footing to six inches <br />above the finished grade at the recommended rate. <br />(16) Sec. 323-Protection Against Decav and Termites (AmendedZ The <br />following sentence is added to Section R-323.1: The top row of concrete <br />block on the foundation must be solid type block to prevent termites <br />from infesting the building. <br />(17) Table 503.2.1a Allowable Snans and Loads for Plywood and Wood <br />Structural Panels for Roof and Subfloor Sheathing and Combination <br />Subfloor Underla ent Amended). Delete any references in the <br />NOMINAL PANEL THICKNESS column to any thickness less than <br />7/16 of an inch. <br />(18) Sec. 505 Concrete Floors (On Ground) (AmendedZ 505.1 General: <br />Concrete slab-on-ground floors shall be constructed in accordance with <br />Figure No. 403.1a. The specified compressive strength of concrete at 28 <br />days shall be not less than 2,500 pounds per square inch except where <br />weather exposure requires greater strength and air-entrained concrete, as <br />set forth in Table No. 402.2. <br />Slabs shall be constructed with control joints having a depth of at least <br />one-fourth the slab thickness, and joints shall be spaced at intervals not <br />more than 30 feet in each direction and slabs not rectangular in shape <br />shall have control joints across the slab at points of offset if offset <br />exceeds 10 feet. <br />Sec. 505.2.2 Base: Eliminate "crushed blast-furnace slag passing a 2-inch <br />(S l mm) sieve" as an option. <br />EXCEPTION: Deleted <br />(19) Sec. 901.3 Roofing covering materials. (Amended) Add the sentence: <br />Asphalt or fiberglass shingles shall be a minimum 20 year warranty and <br />Class C rating. <br />2002 Replacement <br />
