Any employee who qualifies for overtime by virtue of the <br />provisions of paragraphs K and L hereof shall be paid a minimum of <br />two hours when required to report for extra duty over and above his <br />regular work day and work week. Said employee shall also be paid <br />a minimum of two hours for appearances at the Rocky River Municipal <br />Court and a minimum of four hours for appearances before the Grand <br />Jury or Common Pleas Court when the same is required and is at a <br />time other than the employee's regular work tour. The compensation <br />for the aforesaid yours of credit will be at a rate of time and <br />one half (1 1/2) of the employee's regular rate of pay. <br />N. Any time a patrolman is required to temporarily take charge <br />of a shift command, said patrolman shall be paid a premium of one <br />additional hour at a straight .time rate for each day he is required <br />to do so. <br />0. In the event that a member of the Police Department of the <br />City of North Olmsted should be injured while in the line of duty <br />due to a sudden and accidental occurrence and such injury has so <br />incapacitated said member of the Police Department that he is <br />temporarily unable to work, then the Director of Public Safety, after <br />determining that said injury is work related and is of a temporary <br />nature, may authorize full payment of the employee's regular salary <br />for a period of not more than ninety days. If, after said ninety <br />day period, said employee is still temporarily incapacitated, then <br />the Director of Public Safety shall recommend to Council whether or <br />not to continue said salary. Council shall forthwith review the <br />matter and by majority vote determine whether the employee shall <br />continue to receive his full salary during recuperation. <br />For the purposes of this paragraph, <br />injury shall include such incidents as an <br />and battery, gun shot wound and the like. <br />as sudden and accidental if injury or inc <br />lifting of objects, slipping, tripping or <br />heart attack. <br />a sudden and accidental <br />automobile accident, assault <br />It shall not be considered <br />opacity results from the <br />falling, heart failure or <br />Any member of the department who qualifies for benefits under <br />paragraph 0 hereof shall be required to pay over to the City any <br />amounts recieved from the Bureau of Workmen's Compensation as <br />supplemental wages. Further, if at any time the City determines, <br />on the basis of medical evidence, that an employee is permanently <br />disabled and will no longer be able to carry on his duties then <br />the City may terminate payments and insist that the employee go on <br />a pension program. Any employee who qualifies for the benefits <br />under this paragraph shall not have his accumulated sick time reduced <br />because of a qualified accidental injury which occurred while in the <br />line of duty. <br />SECTION 3: That the employees of the Police Department of the <br />City o~ Nort 0 msted be reimbursed, not to exceed $3.00 per day, <br />for per diem expenses while in attendance at the Police Training <br />School established by the Cuyahoga County Commissioners at Case Western <br />Reserve University, which school is for a two-week period with ten <br />days class attendance. <br />SECTION 4: That the Rules and Regulations established by virtue <br />of the adoption of Ordinance No. 76-157 on November 3, 1976, <br />shall remain in full force and effect and said Rules and Regulations <br />shall be adopted with this Ordinance and the same are made a part <br />hereof by reference. <br />
