Step 3: The Union may appeal the grievance to the Mayor <br />or his designated representatives by giving <br />him notice in writing within seven (7) working <br />days following receipt of the Step 2 answer. <br />The 24ayor, together with such representatives <br />as the Mayor deems appropriate, shall meet <br />at a mutually agreed satisfactory time with <br />with Local Union Grievance Committee to <br />consider the grievance within ten (10) working <br />days following receipt of the appeal. A <br />representative of District Council 78 may <br />participate in any such meeting. The Mayor <br />will answer the grievance in writing within <br />five (5) working days following completion <br />of the Step 3 discussions. <br />Step 4: If the grievance is not satisfactorily settled <br />at Step 3, the Union may, within thirty (30) <br />calendar days after receipt of the Step 3 <br />answer, submit the matter to arbitration. <br />The Union shall nofity the City of its intent <br />to appeal the grievance to arbitration in <br />writing. Promptly thereafter, representatives <br />of the City and the Union shall meet for the <br />-9- <br />
