employee learned or should have learned of <br />the event upon which the grievance is based. <br />The immediate supervisor or superintendent <br />shall meet with the employee or the employee <br />and the steward within three (3) work days. <br />The supervisor or superintendent shall give <br />an answer in writing to the participants <br />involved in the intitial meeting within two (2) <br />working days following the date of the grievance <br />discussion. <br />Step 2: If the employee's grievance is not satis- <br />factorily settled at Step 1, the grievance <br />shall be submitted to the Service Director <br />within five (5) working days after the Step <br />1 answer. The Service Director and/or his <br />designated representative or representatives <br />shall meet with the steward and the chief steward <br />or his designee within five (5) working days <br />of ter the grievance has been filed with the <br />Service Director, and the City's representative <br />shall answer the grievance in writing within <br />two (2) working days following completion of <br />the Step 2 discussions. <br />-8- <br />
