for the probationary period provided in Paragraph 18, but upon <br />completion of the probationary period, seniority shall be retro- <br />active to the date of hire. <br />22. The City shall provide the Union with a copy of the senior- <br />ity lists and these lists shall be updated every six months. The <br />seniority lists shall be made up by classifications and shall <br />contain in order of date of hire, the name, department, date of <br />hire and classification seniority date of each employee. <br />23. Continuous service and seniority shall be broken when <br />an employee: <br />;,;~ (a) Quits or resigns; <br />(b) Is discharged for just cause; <br />(c) Is laid off for a period equal to the amount of <br />seniority held at the time the lay-off commenced, <br />or twenty-four (24) consecutive months, which- <br />ever is less; <br />(d) Fails to report to work within seven (7) calendar <br />days when recalled from lay-off by certified mail <br />addressed to the employee's last known address <br />as shown on the City's records, unless the employee <br />-13- <br />
