is in effect and from 7:00 A.M. to 3:30 P. M. during <br />the period in which Eastern Daylight Savings Time <br />is in effect. The schedule of other shifts in <br />the Service Department may be adjusted accordingly. <br />26. The City may not reduce the weekly schedule of work for <br />any department or employee below forty (40) hours without agreement <br />with the Union, but this shall not prevent the reduction or cancel- <br />lation of scheduled hours or work due to unforeseen conditions <br />beyond the normal operation of the City, however, that-shall not <br />include financial conditions. <br />27. Employees shall be allowed not less than thirty (30) <br />uninterrupted minutes for a scheduled lunch period daily except <br />for other schedules mutually agreed upon with the Union. <br />28. There shall be two (2) fifteen (15) minute rest periods <br />on each shift each work day. The rest periods, to the extent <br />practicable, will be scheduled during the middle two (2) hours of <br />each shift, but they may not be scheduled immediately before or <br />after the meal period or at the start or end of a shift. The rest <br />periods are to be taken at the employee's job location, but one <br />member of a crew on the road, may, when it is possible to do so <br />without terminating the operation of the crew, leave the area <br />-15- <br />
