LEAVES OF ABSENCE <br />33. Military Leave: An employee shall be granted a leave <br />of absence for military duty under the terms and conditions <br />provided in applicable federal law. <br />34. Unpaid Sick Leave: A regular full-time employee who <br />has completed his probationary period and who has exhausted <br />his paid sick leave shall be granted a leave of absence without <br />pay for a period not to exceed six (6) months for a continuing <br />disability which is substantiated by credible medical evidence. <br />If the illness or disability continues beyond six (6) months, <br />additional sick leave may be granted by the City upon request. <br />The employee shall be required to submit proof acceptable to the <br />City of his ability to perform the work of his job upon the termi- <br />nation of the sick leave. Any dispute as to the ability of an <br />employee to perform the work of the job shall be determined <br />pursuant to the medical examination procedure in Paragraph 37(c). <br />35.
