41. Whenever possible, a regular full-time employee shall <br />be given a minimum of one (1) week's advance notice of a lay-off <br />for lack of work. <br />42. In the event an employee is laid off for lack of work, he <br />shall receive payment for any earned but unused vacation as quickly <br />as possible but no later than fourteen (14) calendar days after <br />the lay-off. <br />RECALL FROM LAY-OFF <br />43. Employees shall be recalled to their classification in <br />accordance with seniority or to other jobs they are qua]ified to <br />perform in accordance with their seniority in the reverse order of <br />their lay-off. An employee on lay-off will be given seven (7) <br />calendar days' notice of recall from the date on which the United <br />States Postal Service makes the first attempt to deliver the recall <br />notice by certified mail to the employee's last known address as <br />shown on the City's records.
