MANAGEMENT RIGHTS <br />64. Except as they are specifically restricted or limited <br />by the express language of this Memorandum, the City shall retain <br />all of its rights, including without limitation of the foregoing, <br />the right to manage and direct the work force, and to determine <br />the manner and method of performing the work. <br />65. It is the intent of the City and the Union that this <br />Memorandum comply in every respect with applicable legal statutes <br />and charter requirements, and if it is determined that any provision <br />of this Memorandum is in conflict with law, that provision shall <br />~. be null and void and shall not affect the validity of the remain- <br />ing paragraphs of this Memorandum.. In the event of an unlawful <br />determination, the City and the Union shall meet within thirty (30) <br />days for the purpose of negotiating a lawful alternative provision. <br />LONGEVITY PAY <br />66. Employees in the bargaining unit having completed five <br />(5) years of full-time continuous service as employees of said <br />department, or having been transferred from some other department <br />by administrative appointment, shall be paid an additional four <br />-36- <br />
