MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING <br />PURPOSE <br />1. This Memorandum is made between the City of North Olmsted, <br />hereinafter referred to as the "City", and District Council 78 and <br />Local No. 2681 of the American Federation of State, County, and <br />Municipal Employees, AFL-CIO, hereinafter referred to as the "Union." <br />The male pronoun or adjective where used herein refers to the female <br />also unless otherwise indicated. The term "employee" or "employees" <br />where used herein refers to all employees in the bargaining unit. <br />The purpose of this Memorandum is to provide a fair and responsible <br />method of enabling employees covered by this Memorandum to partici- <br />pate through Union representation in the establishment of terms and <br />conditions and of their employment, including rates of pay, wages, <br />hours, and working conditions, and to establish a peaceful procedure <br />for the resolution of all differences between the parties. <br />RECOGNITION <br />2. The Union is recognized as the sole and exclusive repre- <br />sentative for the duration of this Agreement for the employee in the <br />job classifications listed in Appendix A, and the City will not recog- <br />nize any other Union, organization or person as the representative for any <br />
