CITY OF NOR'Th _MSTF.D <br />^ dRDINANCE N0. 79-151 <br />PAGE 2. <br />After completing one (1) year of full time service an employee shall be entitled <br />to use his accrued vacation leave, and additional leave, as it accrues subject <br />to scheduling requirements within his department. An employee shall be entitled <br />to accumulate vacation leave credit up to a maximtm of the amount of vacation which <br />accrues in one (1) year of full time service under the provisions of Section 1 or <br />2 of this Ordinance, provided the employee receives written approval from the. <br />Director of his department. Any hours of vacation leave which are earned, but <br />allowed to acci.ur?ulate in excess of the provisions of this Section shall be for- <br />feited as they are earned. <br />SEGTION 4: Upon termination of his employment with the City, whether <br />voluntary or ot erwise, an employee covered by the provisions of this Ordinance <br />shall be compensated for the accrued vaction leave at the rate of his hourly or <br />salary wages at the time of termination, however, an employee who is terminated <br />voluntarily or otherwise prior to corrmleting one (1) year of his first year of <br />service shall not receive any compensation for accrued vacation leave. Further, <br />no employee shall be compensated upon termination for vacation leave credit <br />accrued in excess of One Hundred T?venty (120) hours. <br />SECTION 5: Each eight (8) hours of accrued vacation'leave credit shall en- <br />title an employee, including the Fire Chief, Assistant Fire Chief and Fire <br />Prevention personnel, to one (1) day away from his regularly scheduled employment with <br />pay, except all Fire Department employees whereby each twenty-four (24) hours of <br />accrued vacation leave credit shall entitle an employee to (1) day or twenty-four <br />(24) hours away from his regularly scheduled employment with pay. <br />SECTION 6: That this Ordinance hereby repeals any other ordinance or parts <br />of ordinances in conflict herewith. <br />SECTION 7: That the vacation provisions specified in this Ordinance shall <br />take effect January 1, 1980. <br />SECTION 8: That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and <br />after the earliest period allowed by law. <br />PASSED: <br />ATTEST : <br />FLORENCE E.
