.:?,. <br />CITY OF NORTH OLTtSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 79-89 <br />PAGE 4. <br />(F) The height of the lowest member of any sign which is not <br />integral with a wall surface sfiall not be less than 82 <br />feet above a sidewalk or other pedestrian way and not less <br />than 14 feet if over or within 18 inches of the vertical <br />projection of a navement used for vehicular traffic. The <br />maximwn height of such sign shall not exceed 25 feet. <br />(G) Notwithstanding the foregoing provisions of this Section <br />1225.02 in a General Retail Business District where a <br />building used for business purposes and having a floor <br />area of 1001000 sQuare feet or more has a facade or facades <br />which .face a parking area and/or one or more other buildings <br />used for business purposes and which are located at least <br />100 feet distant from all dedicated streets and all areas <br />contained in a Residence District, then there shall be <br />permitted on each such facade (including, in addition to <br />the principal exterior wa11 or walls of such facade, any <br />parapet wall, or penthouse wall comnrising a part thereof), <br />nermanent signs having a total area equal to six percent or <br />less of the area of such facade (including, in addition to <br />the principal exterior wall or wa11s of such facade, any <br />rarapet wa11, or penthouse wall comprising a part thereof), <br />but no sign installed or maintained pursuant to the provisions <br />of this paragraph (G) shall extend above the wa11 on which it <br />is vlaced. <br />(H) Portable advertising display signs shall be permitted in the <br />Retail Business District provided that the fo1_lowing standards <br />are adhered to and met:. <br />1. Any nerson wishing to use a nortable advertising <br />dis-play sign of the variety which is placed on a <br />trailer or is portable by virtue of having wheels <br />placed thereon shall first make application to the <br />Building Department for a pernit. The Building <br />Comissioner shall issue a pezmit if he is satisfied <br />that a11 the provisions which are applicable in Section <br />1225.02 of the Zoning Code have been met. No nermit <br />shall be issued, however, if the sign is over 32 sc{uare <br />feet, and in no event, shall any sign be placed within <br />7 feet of the public right-of-way. Furthermore, no one <br />person, business, corporation, or corrunercial establishment <br />shall be permitted to utilize a portable sign for a period <br />of more than 30 days in any one calendar year. <br />SECTION 2: That Section 1225.02 as previously adopted, or any other ordinance <br />or parts o or inances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. <br />SECTIQN 3: That the Clerk of this Council be and she is hereby directed to <br />cause a notice of public hearing hereon to be given pursuant to the provisions <br />of Section 14 of Article IV of the Charter of the City of North Olmsted. <br />SECTION 4: That after submission of this (?rdinance to the Planning Commission <br />of the City or its opinion and recomnendation, and after public hearing as specified <br />in Section 3 liereof, and after its passage pursuant to the Charter of this City, the <br />Zoning Code of the City of North Olmsted shall be amended as specified in Section 1 <br />hereof. <br />SECTION 5: T'his Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after <br />the ear iest pexiod allowed by law.
