CITY OF NORTH 0114STElI <br />ORDINANCE N0. 79- 89 <br />PAGE 3. <br />3. temporary development signs, annowncing a proposed <br />u11 ing, a buil ing un er canstruction or advertising <br />the sale, rental or lease of a building, or part thereof, <br />shall be located on the lot occunied by the building or <br />use advertised and shall not exceed 40 square feet in <br />total area for each street frontage. Permanent signs, <br />indicating name, owner or manager sha11 be permitted; <br />size and design, however, shall first have to be approved <br />by the Building Official. <br />4. directional signs, of permanent construction indicating <br />tra ic routes within parking areas or driveways, and <br />similar functions, shall be permitted in addition to <br />the above limitations if each sign does not exceed 4 <br />square feet in area. <br />(E) Signs in business districts may be located on the surface of, or <br />project from, the building wall adjacent to a street, a <br />bedestrian way or adjacent to a parking area, or erected on <br />poles or other groLmd supports in yards as herein regulated. <br />The maximtnn dimensions set forth shall include the structural <br />members unless otherwise indicated. <br />l. flat or wall signs, shall not project more than 18 inches <br />in ront o t e uilding wall and not project beyond any <br />building corner. A sign may extend above the ton of the <br />front wall but not more than 20 nercent of its total <br />height may be extended above thelwall, provided further <br />that the sign is setback fram each side lot line and <br />party wa11 line at least eaual to the dimensions that <br />the sign projects above the top of the wall. <br />2, projecting signs, shall be limited to not more than one <br />sign or eac establishment or store unit. Such signs <br />shall be attached to the wa11 and may project at an angle <br />of not less than 90 degrees therefram over a public way, <br />and may extend above tfie top of the wall, but not more <br />than 35 percent of the total height of the sign may extend <br />above the wall. An.y face of a projecting sign sha11 be not <br />less than 5 feet from a side lot line or party wall of <br />another store unit. <br />3. maxc{uee signs, may extend above the fascia; however, the <br />vertlcalcimension of such sign, including fascia, sha.ll <br />not exceed four feet. <br />4. pole signs, shall project not more than 3 feet over a <br />pu lic way and the supnort for the sign shall not be <br />located within the public right-of-wav. The maximwn <br />size of orie face on. any nole- sign s?iall- not exceed 50 <br />sauare feet. <br />5, ground signs, shall not be located within any area that <br />is require as a side, rear or front yard and shall not <br />be less than 5 feet from another business 1ot and not <br />less than 25 feet irom a Residential District line or <br />exceed 10 feet in height. The maximLm? size of one face <br />of any ground sign shall not exceed 40 square feet. <br />Temporary development signs may, however, be located in <br />front of the setback line and a permanent developmer.t <br />sign may be located in front of setba.ck line if approved <br />by the Board. Directional signs may be locatecl within <br />such reQuired yards.
