+- a <br />,. <br />1 <br />I. The Bill of Rights shall provide the following: <br />A. Whenever an Employee receives disciplinary actions where anything <br />whatsoever will be put into an Employees Personnel File, such <br />Employee will be given a copy of the reprimand. Written reprimands <br />will contain space for an Employee's acknowledgement of receipt of <br />said copy. <br />$, An Employee will only be suspended under civil service rules, <br />regulations and procedures. <br />C. Copies of charges and letters of suspension to any member shall be <br />forwarded to the Negotiating Committee at the option of said Employee. <br />Where it is reasonable to believe that alledged violations will be <br />D• brought to the attention of the Chief of Police for disciplinary action <br />at the Chief's level or above and dismissal, criminal actions or charges <br />would be contemplated, such investigation or interrogation shall be <br />conducted under the following conditions: <br />1. Any interrogation of the Employee shall be held at a reasonable <br />time in relations to the Employee's work schedule, unless the <br />exigencies of the situation require some other time. The <br />interrogator shall, be identified to the Employee. The interrogator <br />shall inform the Employee of the nature of the investigation. If <br />such interrogation does occur during off-duty time of the Employee <br />being interrogated, he shall be compensated for such off-duty time <br />in accordance with regular department procedures. The exception <br />to this compensation is when the Employee is arrested on a warrant <br />or arrested on reasonable grounds to believe a crime has been <br />committed and a warrant or indictment is later obtained. <br />2; No restrictions are placed on an interview, but any interrogation <br />shall take place at the police station or any other place agreeable <br />to both parties. <br />3. The Employee under investigation shall be informed prior to such <br />_ interrogation of the rank and name of the officer in charge of the <br />investigation, the interrogating officers aid all persons present <br />during the interrogation. All questions directed,to the Employee <br />under interrogation shall be asked by and through no more than two (2) <br />interrogators. <br />4. The Employee under investigation shall be informed of the names and <br />addresses of all complainants and on request the complainant may be <br />informed of the name and address of the Employee. The investigating <br />officer of the complaint may be the complainant. No Employee of the <br />North Olmsted Police Department shall assume the role and/or name of <br />the original complainant.
