S 7 CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE N0. 76 - //3 BY : ~~~ AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ACCUMULATED "SICK LEAVE" POLICY AND THE REGULATIONS GOVERNING ACCUMULATED "SICK LEAVE" FOR ALL EMPLOYEES IN ALL DEPARTD4ENTS OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, BUT EXCLUDING THEREFROM ELECTED OFFICIALS, AND REPEALING ORDINANCE N0. 70-58., AS AMENDED. WHEREAS, the Legislative Committee of Council has been advised by the Mayor that it is desirable to establish a "Sick Leave" plan for the employees of the City of North Olmsted, in order that the employees can ascertain in advance the number of days they may be sick without losing any portion of their wages; and WHEREAS, the Legislative Committee of Council has met on several occasions and have determined that a "Sick Leave" policy is necessary; and WHEREAS, Council now wishes to establish the "Sick Leave" policy for all employees of the City of North Olmsted, except elected officials. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION l: The "Sick Leave" policy for all employees of the City rth Olmsted, excluding department heads and elected officials is hereby established as follows: A. Sick Leave Credit 1. Accumulation of Credit - Sick Leave is earned in accordance with the state minimum requirement at the rate of 1-1/4 days per month of employment or 15 days per year. 2. Regularly employed personnel who work less than full time shall receive pro-rated sick leave credit based on the above paragraph for the portion of time they are employed. 3. Employees shall receive annual sick leave according to the following formula: Sick Leave Days per year = 1_25 x_months x hours Sick leave days per year represent the eight-hour days accumulated; months represents the months worked per year; hours represents the hours worked per day. __ _._ ,,,r,~,~.~ ~~_ .. ,. _,.,.r_~_.,.. ~.k. ~_._
