i . ~:.. <br /> <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 74 - //~ <br />Page 2 <br />ARTICLE IX <br />SECTION 2. PRIMARY ELECTIONS. <br />On the first Tuesday after the first Monday in June in odd- <br />numbered years, primary elections shall be held for the purpose of <br />nominating persons as candidates of political parties for election <br />to offices to be voted for at the next succeeding general election. <br />SECTION 5: That the Clerk of this Council is hereby authorized <br />and directed promptly to forward a certified copy of this ordinance to <br />the Board of Elections of Cuyahoga County. <br />SECTION 6: That the Board of Elections of Cuyahoga County <br />shall cause an appropriate notice to be duly given of the election to <br />be held on November 5, 1974, on the foregoing amendment to the Charter <br />of this City. <br />SECTION 7: That the Clerk of this Council is hereby authorized <br />and directed to cause the proposed amendment to be published according <br />to law. <br />SECTION 8: That there is hereby appropriated from the General <br />Fund a sufficient sum of money to pay the costs of carrying out the <br />authorizations and directions of this ordinance. <br />SECTION 9: That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the <br />public health, safety and welfare, and for the further reason that it <br />is immediately necessary that it become effective and be certified <br />to the election authorities immediately in order for the question to <br />appear on the ballot at the General Election to be held on November 5, <br />and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds <br />of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in <br />force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PAS SED - ~.~~ <br />ATTEST: <br />1~ <br />~~ <br />NORA T.
