MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />THE CITY' OF NORTH OLMSTED, OHIO <br />MARCH 6, 1g62 - 8:11 P.M. <br />Present were Paul J. Gateau, Mayor; Ralph Christman, President of Council, Pro Tem; <br />Henry Caster, James Leonard, Dewey Limpert, A. L. Mangani, Lillian Nicholas, <br />Francis J. O'Neill. <br />Also present were Lloyd E. Barnes, Service Director; George Schaaf, Law Director; <br />James T. Wilxon, Safety Director; Alex Kanareff, Engineer; and Louise Hall, Clerk. <br />Absent: Bruce MacDonald, Presid ent of Council; William Gerlach, Finance Director <br />The minutes of the meeting of February 20/we~e2approved as corrected. <br />Mr. Broadbent representing the Columbia Land Development Co. appeared before <br />Council requesting that the plat plans for Columbia Land Development Co. be <br />approved for record purposes. He was advised that this matter was to be <br />taken up later in the meeting. <br />The Mayor read a communication from Schaeffer and Schaeffer, representatives of <br />Mrs. Eleanor Denton, Clague Rd., regarding property adjacent to the Playground <br />that Mrs. Denton desires to dispose of and inquiring whether or not the City <br />would be interested in purchasing this land. This matter was turned over to <br />the Public Parks, Property and Recreation Committee. <br />The Mayor read a communication from the County Commissioners advising of a <br />change in Poor Relief Fund and requested that the Safety, Health & Welfare <br />Committee review the new agreement. <br />The Mayor advised that he had received a consent ordinance from the State <br />Highway Department authorizing the County Commissioners to make a survey <br />and engineering study in North Olmsted for the Outer Belt South Freeway. <br />This was turned over to the Public Development and Service Committee for their <br />review before legislation is drawn. <br />The Mayor proclaimed April 1862 as CANCER CRUSADE MONTH. <br />The Mayor read a communication from Mrs. Hanrahan commending the Service Department <br />for their services. <br />The Mayor advised of the receipt of a communication from C.J. Oviatt, Solicitor of <br />Olmsted Falls regarding a meeting Huth Olmsted Falls, Olmsted Township and Westview <br />pertaining to participation in our sewer program. This meeting is met for <br />March lg, 1g62 at the North Olmsted City Hall at 8:00 P.M. <br />The Mayor advised he and the Service Director would be out of town after March <br />8, 1g62 for approximately ten days. <br />lfhe Service Director advised that he had received a communication from Libby Lee <br />Inc. regarding the posting of a bond in the amount of $31,333.00 for lateral <br />sewers. This matter is to be discussed further at a meeting with Mr. Kleist, <br />the Law Director, Service Director and Council. <br />The Service Director advised that the first advertisement for bids for the Walter <br />Rd. water main will appear on April 2, 1962. <br />The Service Director presented the appraiser's report for easements on Dover <br />Rd. The Public Development and Service Committee are to meet with the appraiser <br />and discuss this matter further. <br />The Engineer requested that legislation be drawn for a Subdivision Completion <br />Bond. This was turned over to the Public Development and Service Committee for <br />study. <br />The Engineer also requested legislation prohibiting a restriction or culvert <br />being placed in a County Ditch wig out the approval of the Service Director. <br />This matter was burned over to the Public Development and Service committee for <br />study. <br />
