~ ~ ~ <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL _ . <br />THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, OHIO <br />' SEPTEMBER 19, 1961 ^ 8:i2 P.M. <br />Present were Paul J. Gateau, Mayor; Francis J, OiNei11, President a1~ Council <br />Pro Tem; Henry Caster, Dewey Limpert, A.L, Mangani, Lillian Nicholas, George <br />Porters Ralph Christman. <br />Also present were C.J. Oviatt, Solicitor; Lloyd E. Barnes, Service Director; <br />James T. Wilson, Safety Director; Alex Kanareff, Engineer; and Louise Hall, <br />Clerk. -~ <br />Absent: Bruce MacDonald President of Council; W.L. Gerlach, Finance Director. <br />The minutes oY the regular meeting of September 5, 1961 were approved as corrected. <br />The Mayor advised that the Engineer would present the information concerning the <br />possibility of obtaining another access to the Claque Road Playground. <br />The Mayyor requested that Council consider the Postal Authorities proposal that <br />North Olmsted beeoae a part of the Cleveland Postal District. <br />The Safety Director thanked everyone for the cards, calls and visits while he <br />was ill. <br />The Engineer presented a sketch of a possible access to the Claque Road Playground. <br />This matter was turned over to the Municipal Properties Committee for further <br />study. <br />The Engin®er sub~itted to the Plats Committee a plan for development of land from <br />Columbia to Flaherty, south side of Lorain north to Brookpark. <br />The Clerk read a memorandum to Council from the Solicitor regarding the possibility <br />of banning all night parking on all streets in the City from 2 :00 A.M. to 6 :00 A.M. <br />and also requesting information as to the disposition of the request for a change <br />of the parking regulations applicable to East Park Drive; a request for <br />Council to authar~izet~ the Solicitor to prepare and file the answer to the <br />Uncle Martyrs Ice Cream Company petition. <br />Mr. Christman moved, seconded by Mr. Porter, to=A~'~ the Solicitor to prepare <br />and file t1~e answer to the Uncle Martyrs Ice Cream Company P~~ "Yeas~r <br />Caster, Christman! Lampert, Mangani, Nicholas, O~Neill, Porter. <br />The Solic itor requested that Council consider changes in the siriewalk and street <br />requirements; side yard requireanents; Building height requirembnts; as soon as <br />possible so that the revision of the Zoning Ordinance can be completed. These <br />matters were turned over to the Streets, Sidewalks, Sewers and Ditches Committee <br />and the Plats Committee for furtherstudy, <br />Mr. R. Webeler, 2111.57 Ros3ia Lane and Mr. C. Nickels, 2!:7.77 Rosita Lane requested <br />information as to the status of the proposal made by other residents. of $Yie3r <br />street to have Counc it authorize the installation of a pump to take the drainage <br />from sanitary tubs in a basement into the sanitary sewer. Mr. Christman advised <br />that he has a meeting scheduled to investigate this matter. <br />Mr. L.S. Steer, 289?5 Lorain Rd., thanked the Administration for the tiling of the <br />culvert on McKenzie Road and requested that the Ditch be cleaned as soon as <br />possible. The Service Director advised that his Department would check into <br />this next week. <br />Mrs. Nicholas asked the Service Director as to the status of the tennis court <br />on the Claque Road Playground. <br />The Service Director advised that the men have been busy with other work that <br />must be done during good weather and expect to finish the tennis court this fall. <br />Mrs. Nicholas asked the Service Director who authorized the change in the sewer <br />p7.ans for Elm Road, Lorain Road at Coe, and other changes. <br />The Service Direct,®i± advised that there are any number of field changes that <br />must be made every day and that if he were $A wait for Council approval the <br />sewer program would be held up most of the time. <br />Mr. OtNeill requested that any future major changes in the p7.ans be presented to <br />Council for approval. <br />
