Wilson Safety <br />Director; Francis J, Cai ns Assistant Solici~r; Alex Kanareff~ Engineer; William <br />Gerlach Finance Director; Louise Halls Clerk, <br />Absent: Bruce MacDonald President of Council; C.J, Oviatt} Solicitor. <br />The minutes of the regular meeting of June 20~ 1961 were approved as corrected, <br />The Service Director requested that Council consider a medical bill for X59,48 <br />(fee far setting a boyts broken foot, The accident occurred at a Recreatir~n <br />Commission sponsored basketball game at Chestnut School. The Recre ation Commission <br />does not carry ir~urance for a situation like this and Mr. Barnes asked that <br />Council decide whether or not the City should pay this bill, This matter was <br />turned over to the Municipal Properties Committee, <br />The Safety Director reported that there will be a Safety Booth at the homecoming <br />and plans are being made to show the films ~~Signal 30~} and 'tour Obligation~~. <br />The Safety Director advised that the bids received for the 1250 gallon pumper <br />were: American»LaFrance - X33,593.00; Seagraves X33,395,00, These bids were <br />fora 6 cyl, engine. Seagraves offered an alternate bid fora 12 cyl, engine <br />at ~34,1~95,00. <br />Chief Donaldson recommended that the 12 cyl, engine be purchased rather than <br />the 6 cyl, <br />Mr, J.J. O~Doherty of Seagraves presented more information on the 6 cyl, and <br />12 cyl. engi nes, <br />After discussion about the possibility of paying for a new engines Mr, O~Doherty <br />agreed to an extension of time on the bid and it was then turned over to the <br />Finance Committee for further study until the next meeting, <br />The Safety Director recommended the hiring of more firemen in orddr to have <br />a more efficient Fire Department, <br />The Engineer recommended that McKenzie Park Subdivision be accepted for <br />dedication with a cash bond posted in lieu of tree planting. This matter was <br />turned over to the Streets Sidewalks, Sewers and Ditches Committee. <br />The Engineer presented water easements requested by the City of Cleveland for <br />the Stoneybrook Estates Subdivision. These easements were turned over to the <br />Solicitor. <br />The Clerk read a Drainage Study made by the Engineer for Burns Roads Porter <br />Roads and Decker Road (Midvale -~ Southern), <br />The Clerk rem a resolution passed by the Council ~i~ the City of Akron! Ohio <br />memorializing the Ohio State Senate to confirm the appointment of Miss Frances <br />McGovern to the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio. <br />Mr. O~Neill stated that the meeting was now open for the Public Hearing on the <br />1962 Budget, <br />As no information was requested pertaining to the 1962 Budgetthe regular business <br />c~' Council was continued, <br />Resolution No, 61»130 was introduced by Mr, Mangani. A resolute on of the City <br />Council of the City of North Olmsted Ohio imploring all patriotic Americans <br />to awaken and to fight all Communistic activity, The resolution was given its <br />first reading only, <br /> <br />
