MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED~ OHIO <br />Jury 20, 1961 .. 8:05 P.M. <br />Present were Paul J. Gateau, Mayor; Bruce MacDonald, President of Council; Henry <br />Caster, Ralph Christman, Dewey Lampert, A.L. Mangani, Lillian Nicholas, Francis <br />J. ~~Ideill, George Portrer. <br />Also present were Lloyd E• Barnes, Service Director; James T. Wilson, Safety <br />Director; Frar~is J. Cain, Assistant Solicitor; Alex Kanareff, Engineer; William <br />Gerlach, Finance Director] Louise Ha11, Clerk. <br />7ibsent: C.J. Oviatt, Solicitor. <br />The minutes of the regular meeting of June 6, 1961 were approved as corrected. <br />The Engineer advised that signatures on the petition for storm sewer on Decker <br />Road are adequate and turned the petition over to the Streets! Sidewalk, Sewers <br />and Ditches Committee. <br />The Engineer recommended that the R & R Subdivision #1(Sunset Oval) be accepted for <br />dedication and requested that the Streets, SidewYmSewers and Ditches Commitee <br />cheek wi th him regarding the difficulty at the/sewer outlet in front of the Matze7le <br />property. This matter was turned over to fit Committee. <br />The Clerk read a letter from the Leaders of Girl Scout Tropp #9 to the Safety <br />Director thanking the City Adma.na.stration for helping to make All Scouts Day <br />a success for the girls in their troop. <br />Mr. Ray Helt~ 27615 Butternut Ridge, appeared before Council and requested that <br />legislation be passed to limit outdoor advertising for real estate to the <br />~remi.ses rather than on street corners and tree lawns. <br />The Mayor advised that a sign ordinance/being considered at the present time <br />by the Planning Commission which would ~ ': affect this type of advertising <br />as~i. others. <br />Mr. W. Hayes, 23986 Ambour Drive, inquired as to what is being done on the <br />storm sewer situation on Ambour Drive. <br />The developers Mr. Lewis Wollner, advised that as advised by the City Engineer <br />they were weaning the tale on the southern end so that it can be used. <br />Mr. Hayes stated that the present sewer should be elamina.ted and that he feels <br />that the owner of the 5 acres should be responsible for draining this land. <br />He also~sked why Ambour Drive storm sewer was permitted if it is inadequate. <br />The Engineer advised that the present sewer is to be closed, that the Service <br />Dept. is to fill the hole with concrete. He also stated that he was sorry if <br />he misled.'. anyone regarding the adequaajc;,-of the storm sewer on Ambour Drive. <br />He stated that the storm sewer on C1ague Road is inadequate to take any sub.. <br />divisions in that area and that he has no knowledge of the adequacy of the <br />Ambour Drive seater as that was constructed before he wadi City Engineer and <br />he has had no occasion to make a survey of it. <br />Ordinance No. 67...121 was introduced by Mrs. Nicholas. din ordinance authorising <br />the Solicitor of the City of North Olmsted. to employ special counsel to assist <br />in the revising of and preparation of a comprehensive zoning ordinance for the <br />City of Nar~th Olmsted and declaring an emergency. It was moved by Mrs. Nicholas, <br />seconded by Mr. Lampert, that the stat~Anry rule be suspended and the ordinance <br />be read immediately the second and third times and put on its passage. The <br />affirmative vote on said motion was as follows: Casters Christman, Lampert, <br />Mangani, Nichola.s~ OfNeill., Pt~cter. Thereupon the ordinance was read the <br />second and third times and put upon its passage and the affirmative vote there- <br />on was as foLtows: Caster, Christman, Lampert, Mangani, Nicholas, OtNeill,Porter. <br />
