Gareau~ Mayor; Bruce MacDonald President of Council; Henry Caster, Ralph Christman Dewey Limpert~ A.L. Mangani~ Francis J. O~Neill~ Lillian Nicholas George Porter. Also present were Lloyd E. Barnes, Service Director; C.J. Oviatt~ Solicitor; Alex Kanareff~ Engineer; William Gerlach, Finance Director and Louise Hal1~Clerk Absent: James T. Wilson, Safety Director. The minutes of the reguhr meeting of March 7, 1961 were approved as written, The Mayor proclaimed the week beginning April 2l~tt:~ 1961 as Chamber of Commerce Week, in recognition of the third b~,~hday of the Chamber of Commerce of North Olans ted. The Mayer read a communication concerning a nomination for the Ward Melville Gold Medal for Community Improvement and advised that the Building Commissioner would take care of this matter. The Mayor stated that the MontHar Building Statistics compmled by the Builders Exchanges Inc, for suburban statistics Shows a gradual increase in building valuations for the City of Nar~th Olmsted since 1959. The A~Iayor advised of a corr¢nunication received from th1$ Department of Highways expressing appreaation for our cooperation in upholding the limited. access provision established on Brookpark Road. He also read a letter addressed to W. G. Ponting~ 5099 Columbia, from the Department of Highways regarding this rra. tter, The Moor re ad a communication from the Shell Oil Company relative to resolution introduced in Cleveland City Council to investigate alleged price fixing by gasoline wholesalers which was u~timatedy rejected. The Mayor advised that Mr. L,W. Kempf solicitor of Parkview~ has requested a copy of the income ~hedule upon which our mortgage stevenue bonds were issued, to assist them in a decision as to either joining our plant or constructing their own, Mr. Gerlach is to furnish this information to them. The der presented a copy of House Bill No. 667to be presented to the 101~th General Assembly Regular Session relative to granting municipal corporati ons the right to determine the quotas of all classes; of permits to be issued by the Department of Liquor Control to said coppscQn and to require the Department of Liquor Control to recognize municipal zoning ordinances. This was turned over to the Legislative Committee far further study. The Clerk read the following communications: 1. A bill from T. F. Murdock, 4513 Canterbury Rd., in the amount of X180.00 for alleged damages created by the City because of filling in a drainage ditch. 2, A letter to Mr. F.G. Browne of Floyd G. Bsux~me and Assoc. from the Service Director regarding the retention of a Resident Inspeatior at the Sewage Disposal Plant, 3. A letter from Bruscino Development Inc. advising of cancellation of plans for an Industrial Park on the Rienhart and Dykes properties baQause of the impossibilty of obtaining an access from Brookpark Road. !~. A letter from the City Engineer pertaining to the Dover Center Road Widening. This matter was turned over to the Streets Sidewalks Sewers and Ditches Committee. 5, An invitation to all City Officials and their wives or husbands to attend the showing of the fi.~m Signal 30 on April 3, 1961 at 8:30 P,r, at No. 1 Fire Station from The North Olmsted. Fire Department.
