Gareau~ Mayor; Bruce MacDonald President of Council; Henry <br />Caster, Ralph Christman Dewey Limpert~ A.L. Mangani~ Francis J. O~Neill~ Lillian <br />Nicholas George Porter. <br />Also present were Lloyd E. Barnes, Service Director; C.J. Oviatt~ Solicitor; <br />Alex Kanareff~ Engineer; William Gerlach, Finance Director and Louise Hal1~Clerk <br />Absent: James T. Wilson, Safety Director. <br />The minutes of the reguhr meeting of March 7, 1961 were approved as written, <br />The Mayor proclaimed the week beginning April 2l~tt:~ 1961 as Chamber of Commerce <br />Week, in recognition of the third b~,~hday of the Chamber of Commerce of North <br />Olans ted. <br />The Mayer read a communication concerning a nomination for the Ward Melville <br />Gold Medal for Community Improvement and advised that the Building Commissioner <br />would take care of this matter. <br />The Mayor stated that the MontHar Building Statistics compmled by the Builders <br />Exchanges Inc, for suburban statistics Shows a gradual increase in building <br />valuations for the City of Nar~th Olmsted since 1959. <br />The A~Iayor advised of a corr¢nunication received from th1$ Department of Highways <br />expressing appreaation for our cooperation in upholding the limited. access <br />provision established on Brookpark Road. He also read a letter addressed to <br />W. G. Ponting~ 5099 Columbia, from the Department of Highways regarding this <br />rra. tter, <br />The Moor re ad a communication from the Shell Oil Company relative to resolution <br />introduced in Cleveland City Council to investigate alleged price fixing by <br />gasoline wholesalers which was u~timatedy rejected. <br />The Mayor advised that Mr. L,W. Kempf solicitor of Parkview~ has requested a <br />copy of the income ~hedule upon which our mortgage stevenue bonds were issued, <br />to assist them in a decision as to either joining our plant or constructing <br />their own, Mr. Gerlach is to furnish this information to them. <br />The der presented a copy of House Bill No. 667to be presented to the 101~th <br />General Assembly Regular Session relative to granting municipal corporati ons <br />the right to determine the quotas of all classes; of permits to be issued by <br />the Department of Liquor Control to said coppscQn and to require the <br />Department of Liquor Control to recognize municipal zoning ordinances. This <br />was turned over to the Legislative Committee far further study. <br />The Clerk read the following communications: <br />1. A bill from T. F. Murdock, 4513 Canterbury Rd., in the <br />amount of X180.00 for alleged damages created by the <br />City because of filling in a drainage ditch. <br />2, A letter to Mr. F.G. Browne of Floyd G. Bsux~me and Assoc. <br />from the Service Director regarding the retention of a <br />Resident Inspeatior at the Sewage Disposal Plant, <br />3. A letter from Bruscino Development Inc. advising of <br />cancellation of plans for an Industrial Park on the <br />Rienhart and Dykes properties baQause of the impossibilty <br />of obtaining an access from Brookpark Road. <br />!~. A letter from the City Engineer pertaining to the <br />Dover Center Road Widening. This matter was turned over <br />to the Streets Sidewalks Sewers and Ditches Committee. <br />5, An invitation to all City Officials and their wives or <br />husbands to attend the showing of the fi.~m Signal 30 on <br />April 3, 1961 at 8:30 P,r, at No. 1 Fire Station from <br />The North Olmsted. Fire Department. <br />
